About Alabama Accomodations
Like many states in the South, Alabama is known for its hospitality. The people tend to be quite helpful, and they are very warm towards strangers. Historically, Alabama was the capital of the Confederacy. It is also the place where the Civil Rights movement was born during the 1960s. Over the last few years, this state has become an excellent vacation spot for tourists. One of the most popular festivals in the state is the National Shrimp Festival. This event will generally be held during the month of October, and shrimp, art, and other crafts will be presented. If you happen to be vacationing in Alabama during October, this is an event you won't want to miss.
Alabama is also a great state for hiking. It has a natural environment that is very pleasing to the eye. If you should decide to go hiking during your stay, one of the best places for this activity is Sipsey Wilderness. The largest city in the state is Birmingham, and this is also where you will find the top restaurants. One of the best contemporaries restaurants is Bottega, but it is also a bit pricey. If you are traveling to Tuscalossa, Cafe Venice is another restaurant that is quite popular. While Alabama doesn't have many of the attractions of other states, it is a great place for those who enjoy peace and quiet, as well as the outdoors. Alabama is also a great place for sports enthusiasts that enjoy college football. The football season becomes quite popular during the fall.
