About Louisiana Accomodations
Louisiana is a state that is located in the southern portion of the U.S. It is very unique from other U.S. states in a number of different ways, and it is also a great tourist attraction. The largest and most prominent city in the state is New Orleans. Some of the events which invite people from around the world are Mardi Gras. Baton Rouge is the capital, and Lafayette is a city with a strong Cajun presence. Because Louisiana was once owned and named after a French king, it is the only state in the U.S. where French is heavily spoken. However, this is mostly in rural areas. This state has become quite famous for its seafood, as well as its music.
Louisiana is also culturally diverse. The Creole culture is very prominent in the southwestern portion of the state, and the landscape is home to numerous swamps and bayous. Some of the places you will want to visit are Avery Island, which showcases impressive wildlife, and the Wildlife Gardens, which is comprised of 30 acres of swamp land. Some of the unique wildlife that travelers will find here include nutria, bobcats, and alligators, and even ostriches, though many of these species should be viewed from a distance. The Wildlife Gardens has a bed and breakfast inn that sits in close proximity to the swamp. If you happen to be in New Orleans, you won't want to leave without visiting the French Quarter. This is a popular destination all throughout the year.
