About South Dakota Accomodations

South Dakota is a state that is located in the Great Plains region of the U.S. The southeastern part of the state is much more inhabited than the other areas, and it should be noted that South Dakota is one of the most least populated states in the country. If you are looking for a decent nightlife and urban amenities, you will want to head to Sioux Falls, the largest city in the state. History buffs will want to be sure to stop by Deadwood while they're here. The city of Mitchell is also home to an Indian Village that existed in Prehistoric times. Rapid City is the second largest town in the state, and it is home to the Dinosaur Park, a great attraction for children and dinosaur enthusiasts.

While it may not seem that South Dakota offers a lot of the traveler, this is not the case. It is home to Sturgis, a city that is known for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. In addition to these attractions, there are a number of parks and forests in South Dakota. Some of the most prominent include the Black Hills National Forest and the Badlands National Park. Those who are interested in history will want to stop by the Chief Crazy Horse Memorial. This mountain is known for being one of the largest statues in the world. It should also be noted that South Dakota is home to Mount Rushmore and the Wind Cave National Park. Because this state is not heavily populated, tourists who travel here are expected to have their own cars. One restaurant which is specific to this state is the Al's Oasis.
